Heather Butcher


Heather started playing the piano at the age of four. She trained as a music teacher at Westminster College Oxford studying piano under Dr. Elizabeth McKay.

Heather taught at schools in Buckinghamshire and was the regular accompanist for Wendover Choral Society for over 25 years as well as other local Choral groups including Leighton Buzzard Festival Singers and Halton Singers.

She has played for many Choral Workshops in the U.K. under the direction of musicians such as John Rutter, Ronald Corp, Mike Brewer, and former Kings Singers Bob Chilcott and Nigel Perrin.

Heather was Musical Director of the Male Voice Choir from its foundation in 2007 until October 2012. From 2012 until June 2018 Heather was the Principal Accompanist until September 2018 when she again assumed the MD post.

Kirsty Glen


Kirsty Glen, Pianist and Organist studied music at Napier University, Edinburgh. As a professional musician she has played at many of Scotland’s most prestigious venues, entertaining famous actors, musicians and even Royalty. She also works with a top ceilidh band with whom she has performed throughout the UK as well as Cyprus and the Middle East.

Kirsty is a talented and experienced performer whose abilities cover a number of genres from a popular local Classical Duo to an Irish band where she plays piano, accordion and sings. She teaches music and piano at a local school and has a fine alto voice. She brings to the Choir a wide range of experience and Kirsty, together with Heather, make a great team for the future development of the choir.

Kirsty has been pianist with the Choir since 2011.

Assistant Musical Director
John Edwards


John trained as a first study singer at the Birmingham Conservatoire under Keith Darlington. He later studied with the baritone specialist at the Royal Academy of Music in London, Glenville Hargreaves.

During this time John gained his teaching Diploma for Voice and his Music Degree from the Conservatoire as well as a performance Diploma from Trinity College London.

Currently John teaches singing at Marcia’s Dance Centre in Calpe as well as performing solo work for various groups around the Costa Blanca. John is a member of the Spanish Chamber Choir Contrapunctum in Alicante, where he also helps with choir training and founded the music group 152 also in Alicante.

John was a member of the Bass Section of the Choir for a year or so in 2009 and joined the musical staff in October 2018
